Main Purpose of Job
This role is responsible for creating and delivering the creative vision and design work to enable the delivery of the seasonal design brand and product strategy. This role provides the creative, design expertise and management skills to create and deliver innovative, forward looking trend, brand and product visions and design work for a department/brand aligned to the departmental and/or brands design and product strategy for a department/brand.
Key Responsibilities/ Results areas:
Provide the planning and implementation skills to ensure that trend and creative design work is executed to take forward and deliver creative, commercial and retail partner KPI’s and to a standard that exceeds retail partner expectations.
Delivers high quality creative and design work that takes the range and product development forward and ensures that the potential of emerging and building trends is maximised and delivered in a way that delivers/exceeds the department/brand KPI’s and retail partner expectations.
Delivers the creative and design input and output to ensure that the brand product handwriting is delivered and the brand integrity and personality is reflected within the interpretation of trends and followed through in the design work.
Alerts the department/brand commercial team to declining trends and changes in the market place in order to support the department/brand to manage risk and potential markdowns.
Ensures the junior design team for the department/brand operates productively and effectively and delivers continuous improvement via simpler, smarter ways of working.
Delivers the cross-functional critical path requirements and to ensure deadlines are adhered so that creative development timelines are fully used to deliver high quality creative and design work
Excellent communication skills across all levels within the organisation
Develops working relationships (a strong network) both internally and externally – gaining respect, credibility and support.
