RESPONSIBLE SOURCING

OUR COMMITMENT TO CARE where every item is designed in our offices in the UK and carefully developed to meet our quality standards. Our teams work closely with manufacturers to ensure these standards are met and maintained. We are proud of our relationship with our suppliers and their commitment to adhering high levels of quality and attention to detail.

RESPONSIBLE SOURCING

ETHICAL TRADE

Smallworld Accessories is committed to responsible and sustainable business practices, both in our offices and throughout the supply chain. We partner with a small group of like-minded suppliers and we work hard to build long-term relationships with factories based on honesty and transparency. Smallworld has policies and procedures in place to ensure our standards are being met, and if we find poor working conditions or people being treated unfairly in our supply chain, we will take action to resolve these issues in a fair and responsible way.

CODE OF CONDUCT - ETI

As members of the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI), we report on our activities and work in collaboration with our customers and NGOs to understand and achieve sustainable improvements in working conditions and respect for workers. We have adopted the ETI Base Code which all suppliers must conform to as a part of our working relationship. Factories producing for Smallworld are monitored by our own teams and through independent external experts.

SUSTAINABILITY

We recognise that our business has an impact on the environment that needs to be managed and that reduction of waste should be a priority. In moving towards this goal, one of our objectives is to develop a programme to reduce the environmental impacts of our manufacturing by monitoring and measuring supplier environmental performance. Whether this is a reduction in single use plastics or the use of recyclable packaging, we are working on our environmental footprint.

QUALITY ASSURANCES

REACH is a regulation of the European Union, and stands for the "Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals". The aim is to protect human health and the environment from risks of chemicals used in production. Smallworld works closely with supplier and factories to fulfil its obligations under REACH. Collaborating with experts in the field, we have established processes to comply or exceed REACH requirements, and work with global laboratories to test products for chemical compliance, physical performance and safety.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Supporting local community is a part of our culture. We support local organisations in Brighton, as well as national campaigns. Fundraising is driven by employees and takes place at a community level.
